Goodbye Firefox!
Yesterday afternoon, I got on my laptop to find that my Firefox 3.0.7 refused to start and kept coming up with a Crash Report dialogue box every time I try to get the application running.
I got on IE (unfortunately the only other browser on my laptop lingering around in hopes days like this would come when I need it), and tried every suggestion on the Mozilla support forum. I uninstalled & reinstalled, disabled add-ons, system restored, etc etc.. and nada! Zilch! Diddly squat! Nothing helps.
So I did a brave thing and now have moved on to Google Chrome, which surprisingly, is pretty good. I wasn’t very impressed when I first took a look at screenshots of it when it was first launched, but I think otherwise now that I’ve actually installed and tried it out. This is besides the fact that I think the logo looks like a Pokeball.
Now that I mention it, I remember being part of Mozilla’s record-breaking launch of Firefox 3 consisting of almost 8 million downloads. I really like Firefox, but with perma-crashes like this happening, I think many people will slowly move on to Chrome.
Oh, and usually my daily AVG scans will come up with maybe about 11 warnings, and the days that came up to Firefox crashing, it was escalating to the 60s, for some unknown reason. I mean, I just pretty much to go the same usual websites each day, like Gmail, Facebook, etc. Today, now that I’m with Google Chrome, my daily scans read 0 warnings.

Hey Tom!! It’s been really awesome so far, they have videos showing their features on their website and it’s convinced me to stay with Chrome ever since.
And yea Jon, winamp is sooo old school… I’ve always used iTunes
Oh and I think I’m starting to get a sore throat because my colleague has been really sick the past few days until she took today off - ergh!
