Fancy a scorching barbie, mate?
Barbeques -- one of the many favourite Aussie pastimes. The other day, I was invited to two barbeques two nights in a row. Well, not exactly invited, but I was in some way or another. Most of the people at the parties were usually friends of friends, and those friends of friends would have friends tagging along as well. I happen to fall into the 'friend of a friend' category, but my knowing of most of the people there managed to maintain my well-deserved status in the higher food chain.

Settled Down Tourist

In just a few days leading up to the beginning of the semester, I became Super Tourist, and eargerly visited some of the more popular places to, well, visit. Amy, Gerard, and fellow Malaysian Marilyn, automagically became my tour guides for the day, and brought me to try the famous fish & chips at the Fremantle port. The food was great but a tad oily since the freshly fried food is tossed into a paper carrier for customers without dripping off most of the oil first. The view of the harbour while eating made up for that, and there were seagulls everywhere.
